How to Create & Print Your Prayer Cards

Front and back of a memorial prayer card template by Noted & Charmed

This guide is written specifically for Noted & Charmed prayer card templates. The print sheets, frame system, and page numbers referenced below are all included in your template.

We know this is a difficult time, so we've made this process as simple as possible. You don't need to be a designer, and you won't have to do any complicated resizing. Just follow these steps.

Step 1: Personalize Your Design

Front of the Card (Page 1): Click any text to change the name, dates, and details. Click the photo placeholder to upload your loved one's picture.

Back of the Card (Page 2): Edit the poem, prayer, acknowledgments, or family message to your liking. All text is fully editable.

Step 2: Copy Your Finished Card

  1. Look at the top-right corner of your screen and click Share.
  2. Click Copy to clipboard. (If you don't see it, click the three dots ... or "More" first.)
  3. Select the page you want to copy — Page 1 for the front, Page 2 for the back — and click the purple Copy to clipboard button.

💡 Good to know: You only need to copy your card once. It stays on your clipboard so you can paste it repeatedly to fill the entire sheet.

Step 3: Fill Your Print Sheet (Front)

Choose your sheet based on where you're printing:

  • Page 3 (4-Up Sheet) — fits 4 cards on standard 8.5" × 11" paper, ideal for home printing
  • Page 5 (9-Up Sheet) — fits 9 cards on 11" × 17" paper, ideal for commercial print shops

How to fill the frames:

  1. Scroll down to Page 3 or Page 5.
  2. Click anywhere on the canvas to make sure Canva is focused.
  3. Paste your card: right-click and choose Paste, or use Ctrl+V (Windows) / Cmd+V (Mac). Your card will appear as the top layer at the exact right size — no resizing needed.
  4. Click and hold the card, then drag it over one of the empty frames. Release when it snaps into place.
  5. Click the canvas again, paste, and drag into the next slot. Repeat until all frames are filled.

Step 4: Fill the Back Sheet (For Double-Sided Cards)

If you want double-sided prayer cards, repeat Steps 2 and 3 using the back pages:

  1. Go back to Page 2 (the back design) and copy it to your clipboard.
  2. Scroll to the matching back sheet — Page 4 for the 4-Up, or Page 6 for the 9-Up.
  3. Click the canvas, paste, and drag into each frame until the page is full.

Step 5: Save and Download

Download only the pages you filled — not the instruction pages or the single card template pages.

  1. Click Share (top right) > Download.
  2. Change the file type to PDF Print for the highest print quality.
  3. Under "Select Pages", check only the sheets you filled:
    • Single-sided: Download a 1-page PDF (Page 3 OR Page 5 only)
    • Double-sided: Download a 2-page PDF (Pages 3 & 4 for home printing, or Pages 5 & 6 for print shop)

Step 6: Print and Cut

  • Paper: Use 80–110 lb white cardstock. Avoid standard copy paper — it will feel flimsy and colors may bleed through on double-sided prints.
  • Scale: Set your printer scale to 100% or Actual Size. Do not use "Fit to Page" — it will shrink your cards.
  • Double-sided flip setting — to ensure the back prints right-side-up:
    • 4-Up Letter sheet (Pages 3–4): select Flip on Short Edge
    • 9-Up Tabloid sheet (Pages 5–6): select Flip on Long Edge
  • Test first: Always print a test page before your full run to confirm alignment and color.
  • Cutting: Use a paper trimmer and cut along the corner crop marks for clean, perfectly sized 2.75" × 4.5" cards.

Printing at a Print Shop

If you prefer not to print at home, email your downloaded 2-page PDF to a local print shop like Staples, FedEx Office, or Office Depot. Ask for double-sided printing on 80–110 lb cardstock. Fees and requirements vary by location — we recommend calling ahead to confirm.
