When you've just lost someone, there is a list of things that have to happen, and almost none of them can wait. The funeral program is one of them. It has to be right, it has to be ready, and somehow it lands on the person with the least energy left to give.
I know that feeling. I've sat where you are. That's why Done For You exists: so you can hand this one thing to someone who will take care of it gently, and get back to the people who need you.
Here is everything you need to know, in plain words.
What Done For You is
You choose a program design and the pages you want inside it. You send us the details and your photos. We build the whole program for you, send you a proof to look over, make your changes, and send you the finished, print-ready file.
You don't need Canva, design skills, or a free evening. You just need to tell us about the person you love.
Who it's for
- Families who simply don't have the time or the energy right now
- Anyone who isn't comfortable with computers or design programs
- Families who want a larger program (8 or 12 pages) with a full order of service, photos, and tributes
- Funeral homes ordering on a family's behalf (see our For Funeral Homes page)
What it costs
The program template is included in every Done For You order. You don't buy it separately.
- 4-Page Keepsake: $50. Your front and back cover, plus 2 inside pages (for example, the obituary and the order of service). Order the 4-page →
- 8-Page Booklet: $115. Covers plus 6 inside pages, room for a full order of service, a photo spread, tributes, and more. Order the 8-page →
- 12-Page Program: $165. Covers plus 10 inside pages, for full liturgies, multiple photo spreads, and family tributes. Order the 12-page →
We kept the 4-page affordable on purpose. Every family deserves a beautiful program, whatever the budget.
What makes ours different: you choose every page
Many Done For You services give you one fixed layout. Ours doesn't. You choose exactly which pages go inside your program and in what order, from dozens of designs for every kind of service. You can also choose your finished size: Standard (5.5 × 8.5 inches, printed on regular letter paper) or Large (8.5 × 11 inches, printed on 11 × 17 paper).
Not sure what fits? An 8-page program often holds the obituary, the order of service, a two-page photo spread, a faith page, and a page for pallbearers and thanks.
Inside the Program Portal: what you'll actually do
The Program Portal is where you tell us everything. It walks you through one gentle step at a time, so you never have to guess what we need. You can look around and fill in as much as you like before you buy anything.
1. Choose your size
Pick the 4-page, 8-page, or 12-page program, and Standard or Large. The portal won't let you pick pages until you've chosen a size, so you never choose more pages than will fit.
2. Choose your pages
Browse the page collections and tap Select this page on the ones you want. Tap any page to see it up close first. The collections are:
- Universal pages: obituary, order of service, custom text, special tribute, the "I'm Free" keepsake, acknowledgments, lineage and legacy, and matriarch or patriarch tributes
- Photo collages: layouts that hold from 5 up to 16 photos (plus 29- and 41-photo collages for the Large size only)
- Catholic: Vigil and Rosary, Mass of Christian Burial, prayers of the faithful, Guadalupe devotion (in English and Spanish), and more
- Baptist and Homegoing: Homegoing celebration, Ministry of Music, Resolution, Christian Walk, Repast blessing, and more
- Eastern Orthodox: Trisagion, Memory Eternal, Panikhida, Makaria meal, and more
- Kingdom Hall: Order of Discourse, Life Sketch, Songs of Praise, Resurrection Hope, and more
- Military and first responder honors
- Scripture and hymn pages: Psalm 23, the Lord's Prayer, paired readings like 1 Corinthians 13, great hymns, and more
3. Fill in each page, one at a time
Under Your Selected Pages, the portal takes you through every page you picked, one at a time:
- Your contact details and your order number (it's in your confirmation email), plus the service date if you know it
- The front cover: their name exactly as it should appear, birth date, and date of passing
- The back cover: keep the poem and thank-you message as printed, or replace them with your own words
- Each inside page: a box for that page's words (for example, paste the obituary), and a spot for anything else you'd like us to know
4. It tells you exactly how many photos to send
No counting or guessing. Every photo collage tells you how many photos it holds, and before you submit, the portal adds them all up for you, including the cover photo. For example:
📸 You'll need 11 photos total
10-photo grid: 10 · Front cover: 1
So you can gather exactly the right number of photos before you send them.
5. Put your pages in order
Give each page a position (page 1, page 2, and so on). Your covers are always the first and last pages, so you only number the inside pages.
6. Review and submit
Choose whether you'd like us to check spelling and grammar, or keep your wording exactly as written. Add any note about the whole order, like a service date that's coming up fast. Then submit.
Need to step away? Click Save & finish later and we'll email you a link. Everything you've filled in will be waiting, on this device or any other.
Not comfortable with forms? That's completely alright. Just email us your details instead, and we'll take it from there.
Your proof, and your final file
Your proof comes to you in reading order (page 1, page 2, page 3), because that's the easiest way to check every name, date, and detail. Once you approve it, you'll get your final file in the format your printer needs. For printing at home or at a copy shop, that's usually a print spread, with the pages arranged so they fold and staple in the right order. Not sure which you need? Just ask us, or ask your printer.
How it works, start to finish
- Check the calendar. The availability calendar on the Program Portal shows what I'm working on. If a day says Available, there's room. I take about two programs a day so each one gets real care.
- Place your order. Choose your size (4, 8, or 12 pages) and your design. You'll get an order number in your confirmation email right away.
- Build your program in the portal. Choose your pages, fill in each one, put them in order, and submit with your order number (see above). You can also build it first, save it, and finish after you order.
- Send your photos. Use the photo total the portal gives you, and email them to photos@notedandcharmed.com with your order number (like NC-1001) in the subject line.
- Review your proof. We'll send you a proof of the full program to look over.
- Send your changes. Changes are included, up to about an hour of edit time. To make the most of it, please gather all your changes and send them together in one email.
- Get your finished file. Once you approve it, you'll receive your print-ready program file.
How fast you'll have it
If I'm not booked, I work on your program the same day, at no extra charge. Otherwise, your first proof usually arrives within 1 to 2 business days of having everything we need: your pages, your words, and your photos. The calendar shows how many programs are ahead of you.
Need it after hours? That's after 5 p.m. Pacific on weekdays, or anytime on a weekend. You can ask for a rush any day, at any hour. Please email hello@notedandcharmed.com with "Rush" in the subject line. Include your order number (if you have one), the date and time of the service, and when you need the program. If I can take it, I'll confirm and send you a link to add the after-hours rush ($40). Please don't purchase a rush without hearing from me first, so I never promise a time I can't keep.
What you receive (and what you don't)
You receive a print-ready digital file of your program. We don't print or ship programs. You can print it at home, or take the file to any copy shop like FedEx Office, Staples, or a local print shop. Cardstock or a heavier paper makes it feel like a keepsake.
About your photos
- Send them to photos@notedandcharmed.com with your order number in the subject line, so they're matched to your program right away.
- The portal tells you exactly how many photos you need in total, including your cover photo.
- Please send the best, largest version you have, the original file rather than a screenshot if you can. If a screenshot is all you have, send it anyway. We'll always do our best.
- We never retouch or restore photos unless you ask. Heavy repairs to old or damaged photos can't be guaranteed, and you'll always see and approve any change first.
Common questions
Do I have to finish the portal in one sitting?
No. Click Save & finish later and we'll email you a link to pick up where you left off.
Can I build my program before I buy?
Yes. Look around, choose pages, and fill things in. You'll just need your order number when you submit.
I already bought a template and started it myself. Can I still get help?
Yes. And if you'd like one of the faith or honors pages from our Program Portal added to a template you already bought, just ask us. We'll add it free.
Can our funeral home order for us?
Yes. Funeral homes can place a Done For You order on a family's behalf with the family's information.
What if the calendar is full?
If you don't see an Available day, please email us before you order. We'll tell you honestly when we can have it ready.
Can I make changes after I approve it?
Changes are included up to about an hour of edit time. The easiest way is to send every change together in one email after you review your proof.
Whatever you choose, building it yourself or letting us carry it for you, I hope this one piece of the week feels a little lighter.
With care, C. Lindorfer, Noted & Charmed
